LTL Freight for Drums and Totes
55-gallon drums, 275-gallon IBC totes, and 330-gallon IBC totes all ship via LTL (less-than-truckload) freight. This is standard for bulk liquid agricultural products.
LTL freight means your shipment shares trailer space with other customers' freight — it is not a dedicated truck. This keeps costs lower than full truckload shipping while still handling heavy, palletized loads.
Smaller sizes (2.5-gal and 5-gal) may ship via parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, or regional carriers) depending on your location and the product ordered.
Lift-Gate Service
Lift-gate service is available for addresses that do not have a loading dock, forklift, or other means of unloading heavy freight from a standard freight truck.
A lift-gate is a hydraulic platform on the back of the truck that lowers your pallet to ground level. This is essential if you plan to receive a drum or tote at a location where you cannot back a piece of equipment up to the truck.
Lift-gate service carries an additional fee from the freight carrier, typically $75-$150. If you need lift-gate service, indicate this on your bulk quote request or add it in the order notes. We will factor it into your freight estimate.
Farm deliveries often require lift-gate service. If you are unsure, request it — it is easier to remove than to scramble for unloading equipment when the truck arrives.
Delivery Timeline
Standard delivery is 5-10 business days from the date your order ships. This is an estimate — actual transit time depends on your location, the freight carrier's network, and seasonal freight volume.
Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days of being placed, provided the product is in stock. If there is a stock delay, we will notify you within 24 hours of your order.
Remote areas, locations in mountainous regions, or addresses far from major freight hubs may experience longer delivery times. Contact us if you have time-sensitive needs.
Tracking Your Shipment
Once your shipment is booked with the freight carrier, you will receive an email with your PRO number (freight tracking number) and a link to track your shipment on the carrier's website.
LTL tracking is less granular than parcel tracking — updates may show in larger intervals rather than individual scans. Most carriers provide an estimated delivery date and will update it as the shipment moves.
If your shipment appears delayed or tracking has not updated in more than 48 hours, contact us and we will follow up with the carrier on your behalf.
Address and Delivery Requirements
Your delivery address must be accessible for a standard semi-truck or LTL freight truck. This includes a driveway, lane, or road with adequate clearance for a 53-foot trailer.
If your delivery address has restrictions — low bridges, weight-limited roads, or seasonal road closures — let us know at the time of ordering. We can arrange smaller trucks or alternative delivery points in most cases.
Someone must be available to receive and sign for the freight delivery. Freight carriers typically schedule a delivery window 24-48 hours in advance.
Inspect your delivery before signing the freight bill. If product is damaged, note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing. Photograph any damage immediately. Contact us within 24 hours if you receive damaged freight.
